Lilt Series

The Lilt series explores the visual image as an action of ceremony in the experience of the everyday natural world. Through ceremony, we are able to create anew and make a discovery of an other beyond the self. In this way, ceremony aids us to listen, feel, and play with the skill of awareness. I use spatial rhythms to create the action of ceremony – If art is ceremony, then rhythm is art’s sacrament.

These images play with spatial rhythms to address time, because rhythm is implemented in ceremony to direct us. Rhythm does not let you run away to then and there, but keeps you now and here, here, here.
